BuddiesOfBARC

The success of the Bits4BARC project was seen across the community. The success of the project inspired 2 pet lovers from Houston, Abigail Joseph and Timothy Choi, to start Pawsome Partners in 2024. Pawsome Partners is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting our furry friends across the nation, and have done many projects to improve the lives of animals across the Nation, including drives, and cleanups. To kickstart their organization, the two highschool students reached out to Art4Care for help in organizing another drive similar to Bits4BARC, this time named the #BuddiesOfBARC Initiative. Once again, we partnered with Houston's BARC Animal Shelter to gather supplies for animals in need. Pet lovers from all across Houston donated, including residents in Katy, Pearland, and members of the Shadow Creek High School Interact Club. With over 400 pounds of food and treats and over $400 in monetary donations, BuddiesOfBARC proved to be a massive success.

All donations were successfully delivered to BARC. Here is the breakdown:

• Cat Food: 71.25 lbs
• Dog Food: 264 lbs
• Cat Treats: 203.2 oz
• Dog Treats: 868 oz
• Cat Littering: 104 lbs
• Miscellaneous Pet Items: 2 pet beds, 200 absorption pads, 1 electric feeder, 5 jars of peanut butter, 5 Bags of Toilet Paper Cores, and COUNTLESS pet toys
